In situ analytics offer a tremendous opportunity to better understand and characterize high-pressure reactions, which often present the most challenging sampling conditions. Sensitivity to oxygen, water, and changes in reaction conditions -- in addition to the obvious safety problems associated with grab sampling from these types of reactors -- are among the most common problems associated with analyzing off-line samples from high-pressure reactions.
