Reaction Progression, Kinetics, and Mechanism Elucidation

Understand Your Chemistry to Improve Reaction Performance

ReactIR™ is a real-time, in situ mid-infrared based reaction analysis system designed to allow the Organic Chemist and Chemical Engineer to gain a deeper insight into their chemistry.  Today, ReactIR™ is one of the most valuable tools used to study reaction progression, giving specific information about reaction initiation, conversion, intermediates and endpoint.  The comprehensive nature of the data makes it ideal for kinetics analysis and the specificity of the information facilitates the elucidation of reaction mechanism and pathway.  ReactIR™ provides a "molecular video" of your chemistry in real-time without having to take samples.

ReactIR™ is complementary to offline analytical techniques, such as HPLC and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), but provides outstanding value for monitoring reactions that are difficult to sample.  Chemistry such as organometallics, catalysis, biocatalysis, hydrogenations (or any reactions under pressure), highly reactive chemistry (e.g. azide and phosgene), chemistry with reactive intermediates and polymerizations are all excellent candidates for real-time in situ reaction monitoring.  Errors associated with offline analysis are eliminated by analyzing the information in real-time without having to interfere with the reaction environment.  Hazardous chemistry can be studied safely as contact with the chemistry is minimized.

ReactIR™ speeds chemical process development by providing a clear correlation between changes in reaction variables and their impact on process performance.  A more thorough understanding of the chemistry leads directly to actionable decisions that can improve the quality, efficiency and safety of chemical processes.
