Givenchy Parfums is one of the leading companies in the international beauty care products market. To maximize the efficiency and reliability of their tank filling process their mixing tanks were put on a set of METTLER TOLEDO FlexMount® weigh modules connected to a high-performing weighing terminal. This solution makes fast material transfer possible with rapid processing, short stabilization times, and intuitive operator prompts for increased process efficiency.

Plus, built into METTLER TOLEDO current weighing terminals such as the IND780 is a virtual maintenance technician, called embedded maintenance technology, which predicts if a weigh module is going to fail.  The technology can also virtually replace a broken load cell maintaining site productivity!

With over 50 years of experience in successfully creating and manufacturing perfumes, cosmetics and skin care products, Givenchy Parfums production site in Paris handles more than 400 different raw materials in two main production areas. To maximize the efficiency and reliability of their tank filling process, their mixing tanks were put on a set of METTLER TOLEDO FlexMount® weigh modules connected to a high-performing weighing terminal.
 
The recipes consist of a very high number of ingredients that have to be formulated with very strict tolerances. Materials have to be filled with a weighing range of 300kg to 3000kg. The weigh modules turn the formulation tanks into accurate and efficient weighing systems significantly reducing material wastage.
 
IND780: for advanced process control
The IND780 is one of METTLER TOLEDO’s most recent terminals. It provides true total control of automatic or semiautomatic operations. Materials can be automatically charged at the touch of a button either directly using one of the soft touch buttons on the weighing terminal or remotely from a control room. When the target value has been reached, the IND780 can provide direct shutoff control of the valve. Furthermore the TraxDSP™ noise filtering system ensures the highest accuracy of weighing measurements even in presence of vibrations due to the vessel agitation. Fast filling operations and accuracy uncompromised!
 
Continuous uptime with predictive maintenance technology
Built into the IND780 terminal is a virtual METTLER TOLEDO maintenance technician, called embedded maintenance technician or TraxEMT™. TraxEMT™ allows the IND780 weighing terminal to monitor on a continuous basis the condition of each individual load cell and to predict failures before they even occur. In the rare case of a failing load cell, the IND780 starts the run flat function: the faulty load cell is virtually replaced by the other load cells. The terminal also alerts the need for maintenance by sending an e-mail to designated people and shows a warning message on the local display. The production process can continue to work accurately and reliably until the service technician is on site to repair it. High-accuracy solutions with great reliability are a must to guarantee consistent high-quality of end-products!
