Konica Minolta Sensing, a leading manufacturer of color measurement solutions, and METTLER TOLEDO, a leader in instrumentation for analytical chemistry, have joined forces in a strategic partnership to integrate a dedicated automatic multi-parameter analysis system for the food, flavor, and fragrance industries. The partnership will incorporate the CM-5 color measurement spectrophotometer from Konica Minolta Sensing with the modular density, refractive index, and pH instruments from METTLER TOLEDO to advance the quality monitoring process of raw materials and finished goods for users in the food, flavor, and fragrance industries.
Recently, there is a strong emphasis on workflow automation driven by a need to increase throughput and improve safety and data quality for multi-parameter evaluations. It is essential for the specific gravity, refractive index, and pH value to be accurately determined during quality monitoring of raw and finished materials, as well as precise monitoring and control of color samples. To address these needs, a range of METTLER TOLEDO’s density meters, refractometers, and pH/conductivity meters will incorporate the CM-5 spectrophotometer from Konica Minolta Sensing for improved quality control and a more comprehensive monitoring system. All instrument functions and data handling are controlled by one of the METTLER TOLEDO instruments or by the company’s LabX®Software.
The following parameters can be measured with a customized single parameter instrument or a multi-parameter system:
- Density / Specific Gravity
- Refractive Index
- pH and/or Conductivity
Konica Minolta CM-5 Spectrophotometer for Routine Measurements in the Laboratory or Production Control
The CM-5 is a user-friendly and versatile spectrophotometer from Konica Minolta Sensing with several timesaving features for color measurement of liquid samples in the food, flavor, and fragrance industries. This product has the ability to automatically calibrate every start-up, and measure a variety of sample sizes and forms. Equipped with an optional flow cell, color measurement of liquids can be performed automatically and in parallel with density, refractive index, pH and conductivity measurements. Systems are also available with the Konica Minolta CR-5 base model.
METTLER TOLEDO Versatile Density, Refractive Index, and pH Meters
The versatile modular METTLER TOLEDO system provides the accuracy and functionality of systems typically larger and more complex. From a single parameter instrument to an integrated multi-parameter measuring system, the modular design of METTLER TOLEDO systems can be customized to meet specific customer needs. Every system can be expanded and upgraded at any time with additional modules.
The customer can choose from a wide range of density meters, refractometers, and pH/conductivity meters from METTLER TOLEDO. The optional LabX® Software manages data, the product database, users, and instruments. LabX® Software is ready for integration with LIMS / ERP and ELN.
