Improved taste of fruit thanks to Quick-Brix™ portable Brix meter

Mar 11, 2008
Taste of fruit and vegetable greatly depends on sugar content. Farmers can now analyze their products directly in the field using the robust and reliable Quick-Brix™ portable Brix meter. A drop of juice is enough to determine the ideal harvesting time or classify product. The benefits are obvious: Agricultural products taste better and farmers can yield a better price for the fruits of their labor.
The portable Quick-Brix™ 60 and 90 are ideal for anybody in the agricultural and food industry who needs to measure sugar content (Brix) simply and reliably and in a cost effective way. The instruments are ideal for determining harvesting time of fruit and vegetable, quality of food ingredients such as honey or jam or sugar levels in beverages.

Results in three steps

Measuring samples could not be easier: A drop of the sample is applied onto the prism. The read key is pressed and the result appears on the display. Quick-Brix™ is easy to use, accurate and reliable. It can be calibrated with a drop of deionized water and cleaned by rinsing or wiping.

Measurement on location reduces errors

By measuring Brix in the orchard, vineyard, vegetable patch, storage or incoming goods reception, sample confusion is eliminated and results are available more quickly. This is crucial for the production of truly fresh and healthy food products. Quick-Brix™ is splash-proof, fits into any coat pocket and will reliably work for many years.

Digital measurement eliminates operator dependence.

Quick-Brix™ yields the same result irrespective of the operator. Unlike traditional optical meters which typically have a significant bias. Quick-Brix™ 60 measures Brix in the range from 0 - 60% with an accuracy of ± 0.2 %. Quick-Brix™ 90 in the range from 0 - 90% with an accuracy of ± 0.1 %. Built-in temperature compensation always converts results to a standard temperature of 20 °C.
