When they needed to replace a 15-year-old Cardinal truck scale in one of their feed mills, they called on METTLER TOLEDO to install the new scale without interrupting their massive operation. The company allowed only three days to complete the installation; and with such a tight window of opportunity our sales and service representatives knew that had to move quickly.
The badly rusted scale, located inside the feed mill, was supported by equally rusted, custom made I-beams that also needed replacing. In addition, as in most feed mills, the scale pit was infested with rodents and insects that needed removed, pushing METTLER TOLEDO service teams even further behind schedule. With no time to waste, METTLER TOLEDO sales representative, Max Smith, worked with the company employees and outside vendors to have the pit cleaned and the I-beam replaced so the installation process could begin.
Normally, before a scale can be installed a new foot-print and opening must be created to fit the new scale; but with only three days to complete the job, this was not an option. The challenge was to find a scale matching the opening and foot-print of the old scale. With a little help from engineering, the METTLER TOLEDO 7560SD truck scale did the job. Equipped with all of the features required for most standard vehicle weighing applications, the 7560SD modular truck scale is suitable for new installations as well as replacements. Our customer needed a product that was versatile and many of the 7560SD features can be easily upgraded to provide exact performance characteristics required.
With no down time, service teams worked through the night installing the new 7560SD; and as promised, the customer was able to weigh trucks and load feed by Monday morning.
