Mentoring Program
To help provide a smooth transition into METTLER TOLEDO, current ICE employees are paired with alumni who have been out of the ICE program for at least two years. Mentors act as a line of support for the current member throughout their time in the program.
Key benefits of the mentoring program include:
- Acclimating new members into the business world
- Providing guidance on selecting future rotations
- Helping the new member understand program expectations
The mentor-mentee pairs typically meet once per quarter to discuss projects, but are available more frequently through phone and email contact.

The ICE Community Oriented Leadership Development (ICE COLD) Program encourages both current and former ICE members to give back to the community through quarterly volunteer activities. These events are coordinated and facilitated by current ICE employees and have most recently included the following:
Backpack & School Supply Collection to benefit the Give a Kid a Backpack Foundation
- Current and former ICE members requested backpack and school supply donations from their respective work groups, with the goal of collecting a total of 50 backpacks filled with school supplies. In the end, we were able to ship a total of 60 backpacks to the foundation for distribution within the United States and across the globe.
Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank
- ICE members organized and facilitated a food drive across all three METTLER TOLEDO facilities in central Ohio. As a result, a total of 1,162 food items were delivered to the food bank just in time for Thanksgiving.
Spaghetti Dinner for Ronald McDonald House Charities
- Current and former members collected donations and arranged to cook a spaghetti dinner for up to 50 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House at Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Bi-annual teambuilding events are held to strengthen the ties between current and former ICE members. The activities allow the members to interact both as a team as well as on an individual basis to network and form a common bond between each other. Past events have been a mix of professionally led teambuilding exercises and group activities that are held in a relaxed and fun environment.

Current and former ICE members arrange to share lunch once per quarter. Smaller groups of ICE associates celebrate birthdays and meet informally more often.
