The value of a measurement is proportional to its accuracy. An out of specification scale can diminish quality, reduce profits and increase liability. Because each installation, environment and use of a weighing system is unique, documenting accuracy is crucial. Proper calibration with traceable weights is the only way to certify accuracy.

How You Benefit from Periodic Calibration:
- Confirm and certify weighing performance
- Maintain documented evidence of accuracy
- Avoid non-compliance in quality audits
- Control costs and budget predictability
- Reduce product give-away and/or over-charges
- Lower out-of-specification product liability
Calibration Certification
METTLER TOLEDO offers several levels of calibration documentation to certify that your weighing equipment delivers the accuracy necessary to ensure quality and cost control. We have proven, audit-ready solutions to satisfy ISO9001, ISO17025 or other industry standards. Our service organizations have the experience and third-party registrations needed to advise you on the right calibration protocol, frequency and certification needed to meet requirements.
Calibration Service Agreements
It is not sufficient to only certify calibration at the time of installation of a weighing system. The only way to ensure that a scale is meeting requirements is to periodically re-certify its accuracy. We offer several calibration plans, or can customize one, to help protect you from audit risk, product give-away or over-charges, or liability due to out-of-specification production.
The Power of MiraCal
Only METTLER TOLEDO has the power of MiraCal™, our proprietary calibration management system. MiraCal™ automates our procedures and the application of standards to accurately produce and archive the highest-quality calibration documentation.
Minimum Weight Determination - MInWeigh®
Measurement uncertainty is the quantification of the accuracy of a measurement device. Every weighing system has a minimum weight where measurement uncertainty is less than the required weighing tolerance. Using our proprietary MinWeigh® technology, we determine and certify the minimum weight to ensure that you can achieve required weighing tolerances.
Legal for Trade Certification
In many applications governmental authorities regulate the requirements for using a scale in commerce. METTLER TOLEDO can act as an agent for these authorities in many jurisdictions to certify, seal and label that a scale meets regulatory requirements for commercial use.
Weights Calibration
When your standard operating procedures require the use of in-house weights for periodic verification testing, you need to be confident that those weights are accurate. At our accredited standards mass laboratories, we can clean, adjust, and certify your calibration weights.
