| Temperature modulated DSC techniques (TMDSC) | |
| 16 Jul, 2009 2pm EDT (USA) 28 Jul, 2009 10am EDT (USA) 29 Sep, 2009 10am CEST (Spain) |
Temperature modulated DSC techniques (TMDSC) are currently used in the case of overlapping effects at universities but also in industry. TMDSC methods, in general, allow both temperature-dependent and time-dependent processes to be separated. The basic idea of TOPEM® is to overlay the isothermal or ramped temperature with a time series of stochastic (random) temperature pulses of different durations. Methods used up until now have overlaid the isothermal temperature or heating ramp with a (usually) sinusoidal temperature modulation of just one frequency (single frequency). In contrast TOPEM®, the new advanced multi-frequency temperature modulation technique, uses a large number of different frequencies (multi-frequency).

| QC of Liquids – Fully Automated Multi-Parameter Testing | |
| July 30, 2009 – 10 am US EDT |
Quality control of liquid samples often times requires analysis and determination of many different parameters. For convenience and time-savings, it is helpful if the various tests can be performed on many samples at the same time. Some of the most common analyses performed on liquid samples include density, refractive index, pH and/or conductivity and color. More Info. |

| Application of Quantitative Analysis to Predict Absolute Concentration Information in Real-time | |
| 09/09/2009 9am US EDT 09/09/2009 2pm US EDT |
Relative concentration is sufficient for reaction progression information such as initiation, intermediate formation and endpoint. However, the ability to predict absolute concentration in real-time is sometimes desired or essential, especially during production monitoring, and for monitoring and controlling continuous processes. Part IV discusses the application of quantitative analysis using real-time in situ FTIR focusing on strategies that produce the best quantitative results for the desired outcome. Software tools for quantitative method evaluation will also be covered.

| Gain Control of Liquid Formulations with Inline Particle and Droplet Measurements | |
| 07/29/2009 9am US EST 07/29/2009 2pm US EST |
Learn how to speed process development and ensure Quality by Design (QbD) by tracking particles and droplets in real time without sampling. Whether working with solid suspensions or liquid emulsions, particle/droplet distribution and stability are critical to ensure quality liquid formulations. However, inconsistencies often occur during development and scale-up due to changing raw materials, surfactants, or process dynamics such as homogenization, agglomeration/coalescence, and temperature gradients. During this webinar, the application of in situ particle characterization techniques are demonstrated to track a series of suspension and emulsion formulations from oral suspensions to metered dose inhalants (MDI) and creams/lotions.
