The 18th International Process Development Conference (IPDC) features presentations covering the entire workflow from screening to manufacturing in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Learn from industry peers and researchers and improve your expertise and know-how from the many presentations, the workshops or during personal discussions with other participants.
Leading experts from the chemical and pharmaceutical industries and from academia share their know-how and experience, and present case studies and the latest development trends in:
And the focus areas:
Speakers and Presentations
Industry experts who will present and discuss actual case studies include:
Dr. Stephen Rowe, Chilworth Global, Southhampton, UK
Development of a New Acid Chloride Process With Challenging Safety Issues
Martin D. Johnson, Ph.D., Principal Research Scientist, Chemical Product Research and Development - Eli Lilly and Company
Pilot Scale Demonstrations of Fully Continuous Processes including Reaction, Workup and Isolation
Mrs. Céline Bret, Recherche de Forme Solide, Minakem
Raymond Chen, Pharmaceutical Science, Worldwide Research & Development, Pfizer Inc.
Simultaneous Use of Multiple Vibrational Spectroscopic Tools for Reaction Monitoring
Mark Barrett, Solid State Pharmaceutical Cluster, Ireland
In addition to the plenary lectures, METTLER TOLEDO offers a range of complementary workshops on the application of personal synthesis workstations, reaction calorimetry, the use of mid-IR and particle characterization tools, and the evaluation of the data obtained. the complementary workshops are hosted by industry experts and METTLER TOLEDO Technology and Application Consultants. There is not additional fee for these sessions - they are included in the Conference registration - providing you with an additional $3000 value.

Call For Papers
The 18th International Process Development Conference offers all scientists and researchers the unique opportunity to present applications or a solution to a specific problem to a group of peers. If you would like to take this chance to present a lecture on a topic that relates to chemical or process R&D, Process Analytical Technology (PAT), crystallization, process safety, online analytics, etc., please contact us. A typical lecture lasts for 30 minutes and is followed by Q&A.

Past Award Winners
During each International Process Development Conference, attendees have the opportunity to vote for the "Best Paper". The speaker with the most votes is announced during the Conference Awards dinner which takes place on the final evening of the Conference (Wednesday). In 2009:
- Best Paper Award was Adrian Daly from Pfizer, Ireland with his paper “Use of Online Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy for Process Understanding in API Manufacturing”
- Second runner up was Stephen Rowe from Chilworth Technology Ltd, UK (Process Safety Decisions Using RC1e™, RTCal™, iC Safety™ and Criticality Classes”)
- Third runner up was Prof. Allen Wright from University Newcastle, UK ("Safety and Other Aspects of Batch to Continuous Operation”).
