Filter weighing is a frequent application in laboratories where pollution in gases and liquids must be determined by filtering followed by weighing. For an accurate determination of smallest weight differences METTLER TOLEDO offers a complete solution of weighing kits. They fit on MX/UMX microbalances and XP analytical balances and can also be improved with the LabX data management software or a printer to a complete customized solution.
Filter-weighing with microbalances

For weighing filters with the utmost readability of 1 µg or 0.1 µg, MX and UMX microbalances are the right choice. For these microbalances, two different filter weighing kits are available, for filter diameters up to 70 mm and 110 mm respectively.

Filter weighing kit up to ø 70 mm for UMX & MX microbalances
The filter weighing kit for MX/UMX balance can be the best solution for the requirement from the regulations in automotive industry. Robust stainless steel housing eliminates air turbulence and heat transfer, thus faster stabilization time and better weighing performance is assured. The automated draft chamber and the SmartSens (infrared sensor on the terminal) realize the operation without touching balance. Measure filters up to ø 70mm with this kit. Two different size of weighing pans (ø 47mm & ø 70mm) are included.

Filter weighing kit up to ø110mm for UMX & MX microbalances
The filter weighing kit is mounted on top of the MX/UMX microbalances, allowing weighing of filters up to 110 mm with a readability of 0.1 µg. The metal housing is specially designed for such delicate measurements, using internal metal shields to prevent electrostatic charges or other physical effects which could cause incorrect results.

Filter weighing kits up to ø 110mm for XP analytical balances
The filter weighing kit is mounted on top of the XP analytical balances, allowing weighing of filters up to 110 mm with a readability of 0.1mg or 0.01mg. The ergonomic design helps to work with efficiency. And the faraday cage eliminates the static charge, thus the stabilization time is surprisingly fast.
